Patrick M. Fowler, O.D.

Dr. Fowler is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. He served two years of active duty in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corp at Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He then served as the Director of the Colorado Optometric Center for two years.

In 1970, Dr. Fowler began his private practice, I Care Vision Center, emphasizing primary family eyecare.

Dr. Fowler is the Past President of the Sertoma Club, Past President of the Idaho Springs Lions Club, Former Director of the Colorado Optometric Association, active member of the American Optometric Association and Co-Founder of the Eye Health Network.



Elizabeth M. Orleans, O.D.

Dr. Orleans received her undergraduate education at Regis University in Denver Colorado and her Optometric training at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. She completed her externship training at Pacific Ophthalmic Consultants and Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Francisco, California and Travis Air Force Medical Center in Fairfield, California.

Upon returning to Colorado, Dr. Orleans joined I Care Vision Centers in 1994. Her practice emphasizes primary family eyecare. She enjoys working with children, specialized and custom contact lens fittings, and low vision evaluations and training.

Dr. Orleans is an active member of the American and Colorado Optometric Associations.



Valerie A. Valenzuela, O.D.

Dr. Valenzuela received her undergraduate training the the University of Colorado, Denver and her Optometric training at the University of California,Berkeley School of Optometry. She completed her externship training at Letterman Army Hospital in San Francisco, California and La Clinica in Oakland, California.

Upon returning to Colorado, Dr. Valenzuela joined I Care Vision Center in 1991. Her practice emphasizes primary family eyecare. Dr. Valenzuela is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.

Dr. Valenzuela is an active member of the American and Colorado Optometric Associations.



Howard Amiel, M.D.

Dr. Howard Amiel, physician and surgeon specializing in cataract, corneal/anterior segment eye disorders, and refractive surgery, received his undergraduate education at the University of Iowa, and medical training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. After completing his residency at the Brown Medical School, he joined the faculty and remained to teach and mentor medical students and Ophthalmology residents in the emergency room, clinics, and operating room. He completed two fellowships prior to coming to Colorado: one in Cataract and Refractive surgery with Dr. Paul Koch of Warwick, RI, and another in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He brings to I Care Vision Center extensive training in corneal transplantation techniques, LASIK, and specialty refractive intraocular lens.

Dr. Amiel joined Omni Eye Specialists, Colorado Laser Surgeons, and Madison Street Surgery Center in 2007. He is available to see patients for exams and consultations at I Care Vision Center.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
